2019 Shanghai English Summer Camp

Do you have any good memories in the past summer? We have organized a camp to Shanghai for an unforgettable English research and study trip.

Upon arrival at the beautiful camp, campers came across the first barrier, sorting the garbage of the dorm. There are a few dustbins in the corridor, respectively for the dry garbage, wet garbage and recyclable garbage.

Although having studied how to sort garbage, campers had to think carefully standing before the dustbins, as if they were making great choices. After all, putting garbage into wrong dustbins might be fined in Shanghai.

Good job for sorting garbage right.

Campers were fully engaged in the various activities in the camp. Crossing bridges, dragon boat racing, swimming indoors, playing basketball, fire protection knowledge quiz, shooting, three-legged racing, etc., these activities not only enhanced the cooperation among campers, but also released the stress of study.

After the activities, the adorable foreign teachers finally joined us in the evening. They are all from English-speaking countries. Humorous and amiable, they soon became friends with the campers, Through games, conversations and painting, campers learned much new knowledge about Shanghai including its development history, architecture, snacks, etc. The class is closely combined with the research and study schedule, which left a deeper impression on the campers.

Besides, the campers did not forget their research and study tasks. Walking through the streets and valleys in Shanghai, they experienced the local life and culture.

Shanghai Culture vs. Nature

Walking along the Huangpu River, you can see all kinds of architectures here. The combination of Chinese and western styles makes the Bund unique. On the west bank, the classical architectures show the elegance of old Shanghai. While across the river, the CBD is revealing the prosperity of modern Shanghai. Campers can know about the history of Shanghai through the famous buildings. Meanwhile, they need imagination to think about what special architectures such as Jinmao Tower look like.

Then, campers visited Shanghai Natural History Museum to see various animals and plants. It was surprising to find that millions of years ago, there existed many unknown species. The vivid specimens of animals and environment made campers impressive. They all carefully completed their study tasks.

A Bite of Shanghai

It was a happy day, a day of eating. Campers went to Yunnan South Road, where gathers many Shanghai traditional snacks and famous popular snacks. Every group was given a fixed amount of money so they had to calculate how to eat more snacks with this sum of money.

The development of society needs the progress of science and technology. Our life has become more convenient because of technology. Shanghai Science and Technology Museum shows the principles of science and technology in life. There are great truth behind the small details.

Find Suzhou in the Textbook

If you ask the graduating class, how they feel when visiting the realistic Suzhou gardens and Hanshan Temple in the passages “Suzhou Garden" and "Maple Bridge Night Park" in their textbooks. Animated? Excited? Or the fear of being dominated by exams?

Xijia Garden, also named Qiyuan Garden, is the only Suzhou garden built according to the mountain and near the water. There is also an imperial wharf of Emperor Kangxi, where overlooking Taihu Lake will make your mood suddenly enlightened.
